What Episode Does Law Die?

‘Law Dies – Luffy’s Raging Onslaught!’ is the 721st episode of the One Piece anime.

Does Law die on episode 721?

How would you rate episode 721 of ? Community score: 3.6 – Trafalgar Law is dead, according to the incredibly blunt title of this episode: “Law Dies! Luffy’s Raging Onslaught!” Of course, this is and major character deaths are far and few between, so chances are good the show is pulling our leg.

Though, it does raise the question as to what Law’s big picture role in this series is. Either he’s a main character forever now or he continues to live on until he fulfills some other dramatic purpose. Before Law “dies” we revisit his most recent encounter with Doflamingo, where he restates the faith that he puts in Luffy and friends.

We get a little clip show of all the famous acts of defiance the Straw Hats have committed to the world, reminding us of why Luffy and his crew is so notorious. Law believes firmly that, even if he died, Luffy would find away to take Doflamingo down. This clip show kind of sadly reminds me of how long it’s been since we’ve really felt the stakes of what the Straw Hats were going through.

The show is so much more about the world as a whole now, rather than the relationships and determination of the main characters. The experience hasn’t been crippled in recent years, but I think it’s been too long since we’ve seen some of those emotional highs. The episode goes on to reminds us of that the ultimate power of Law’s Devil Fruit is the ability to make somebody immortal at the cost of his own life.

Doflamingo’s best case scenario is to force Law to use this ability on himself. After all, an egomaniac like Doffy could do quite a bit of damage living forever and it gets at least one carrier of the Will of D. out of his hair. Obviously Law gives him the “kiss my ass” response you could expect, prompting Doffy to riddle him full of bullets in a bloody fervor.

It’s really brutal, and the number of visible holes punched through Law’s unmoving body as he lays in a puddle of his own blood is pretty convincing as far as that “he’s dead” thing goes. I’m still pretty hung up on this idea of Law’s immortality power. There’s no way he isn’t going to use it by the end of the series at some point, right? That power is a ticking plot time bomb as far as I’m concerned, but it’s strange to think that Oda has set up a Chekov’s Gun that inevitably involves a major character dying.

I do have a low-key theory that Law will make Luffy immortal at some point way down the line, just as a side-sweep to all those far too obvious theories about Luffy’s future Roger-like death, but that’s neither here nor there. So Law is quote-unquote “dead” now and it’s up to Luffy to break through the floor and re-challenge Doflamingo, now angrier than ever for how the flamingo man manipulated Bellamy.

There’s some really neat animation as Luffy makes his grand re-reentrance. I don’t know what it is but there’s something about Luffy’s animation model that feels really “right” within a few of these quick shots. It’s stylistically what I want to see more of. Luffy vs. Doflamingo is a fight I find myself having a lot of yearning for.

In an arc this big and a villain this larger-than-life, a satisfying final battle is the least I can hope for. Fortunately, this arc has had a pretty good track record when it comes to animation featuring these two guys at fisticuffs. This episode’s main accomplishment is getting Luffy and Doffy face to face once again.

Will Trafalgar Law die in Wano?

Law Death????? | Fandom we all know law has the power to revive a person but has to lose his life to do it. Law will die in wano that is a fact. All stories in one piece are related to stories that were real. In a way that makes sense.

For exampleThere was really donquixote family that existed and a brother killed his brother in real life.Law was the man that fought in great battle and diedhis real name was trafalgar d lew.Im supposing that fight will be in wano arc and perhaps oda wont make it exactly like the ancient story, Someone will die in straw hat probably luffy and law will make the immortal surgery thing or whatever to bring back the dead person. For more information just ask me,

2 (edited by Whiz Almighty) 0 no one die except Kaido’s head will fall down 1 Not certainly Kaido’s head falling down.1 Kaido will die peacefully.0 I don’t find it likely that law will die just because Oda has done that in the past doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen for sure so nothing about it is a ” fact” yet but ignoring that law might get fucked up but I don’t think he’s gonna die barely any characters that are even the slightest bit relavent die and the only character who died who was as important to the story as law is was ace I’m not saying it’s not a possibility but it is still not 100% yet : Law Death????? | Fandom

Who defeats Trafalgar Law?

Betrayed, Defeated, and Captured – What Episode Does Law Die Law and Caesar confronted by the Marines and Doflamingo. Robin created a copy of her upper body above ground and told Law that she and Usopp were trapped underground but were still fine. Right after Robin urged Law to get off the island, Fujitora and Doflamingo arrived at the exchange site.

Law told Doflamingo that he was made aware of his deception and was surprised that he was able to use the powers of the World Government. After saying that only the World Nobles can trick the whole world, Law suddenly remembered Vergo telling him about not knowing about Doflamingo’s past. Doflamingo just said that it was way more complicated and that he really wanted to kill Law.

Since the deal was off, Law refused to release Caesar. Fujitora then turned his attention to Law and stated that Law would be forgiven if the Straw Hats were his subordinates. After Law declared that he and Luffy are indeed in an alliance, Fujitora took away Law’s title and used his gravity ability to bring down a meteor. What Episode Does Law Die Law vs Doflamingo vs Fujitora As the battle went on, Law was having a hard time holding his own against Fujitora’s attacks. He tried to contact Nami but received no answer. When he eventually managed to contact Nami, Chopper, and Brook, he ignored their pleas for help and ordered them to bring the Thousand Sunny to Green Bit.

In the meantime, Law was directly confronted by Doflamingo, who demanded that he return Caesar’s heart, informed him that Luffy had fallen for a trap at the Corrida Colosseum, and told him to surrender. Law was then defeated in his battle against Doflamingo and Issho. As he lied injured on the ground, Doflamingo explained to him about the history of the Donquixote Family, such as them being one of the Twenty Kingdoms that founded the World Government.

He went on to explain that he was once a World Noble. As Caesar ran towards Doflamingo, begging him to return his heart, Law stated that he never said that the heart belonged to Caesar. Doflamingo then realized that the heart belonged to a Marine instead.

While Issho was distracted, Law used ROOM to escape. He then grabbed Caesar and made a run for it. He fled towards the bridge, planning on handing Caesar to Nami’s group as soon as they arrived to Green Bit and then holding back Doflamingo long enough for them to escape. When Doflamingo saw the Thousand Sunny, he saw through Law’s plan and decided to attack the ship instead.

Before Doflamingo could reach the ship, Sanji intercepted him. Despite Sanji’s best efforts to fend off Doflamingo, he was soon immobilized by Doflamingo’s strings. When Doflamingo was about to deal a lethal blow to Sanji, Law intervened by using Shambles and teleported Sanji, Caesar, and himself to the Thousand Sunny.

  1. Law asked Sanji about the status of the operation in Dressrosa only to learn that Zoro ‘s group needed more time.
  2. Law revealed that he had Caesar’s heart inside of him and Law’s heart was hidden in the Thousand Sunny.
  3. After giving Caesar back his heart, Law instructed Nami’s group to head for Zou.
  4. Nami’s group was reluctant to leave behind the other Straw Hats, but they complied when they were assaulted by a flying Marine battleship, led by Fujitora, and another one of Doflamingo’s hand whips.

Sanji noticed that Law was so fixated on Doflamingo when the plan’s true objective was supposed to be defeating Kaidou. After blocking an attack from Doflamingo, Law informed the Straw Hats about Doflamingo’s Devil Fruit powers and instructed them to go to a place without clouds.

  • Law then took Giolla hostage, giving Nami’s group enough time to escape using Coup de Burst.
  • Once the Straw Hats escaped with Caesar Clown and the Marines head for Dressrosa, Law and Doflamingo have a face off at the iron bridge.
  • Law then told his former leader that he is ending his alliance with the Straw Hats, because once they stop the production of SMILE, Kaidou will target Doflamingo.

Law also revealed that his goal was to make Doflamingo pay for what he did 13 years ago, even if it will cost him his life. After releasing Giolla, Law stated that he was not fighting Doflamingo for revenge but for the will of someone else. Law and Doflamingo then clashed, destroying the iron bridge in the process. What Episode Does Law Die Doflamingo shoots Law. As they clashed, Law used Mes and nicked Doflamingo’s cheek as he maneuvered out of the way. He retaliated with a powerful kick, launching Law into the air. Doflamingo used his string ability, pelting Law with tiny bullets. Doflamingo taunted Law, offering him advice to flee into Dressrosa for cover.

  • Diamante suddenly contacted Doflamingo via Den Den Mushi and informed him about Violet’s betrayal.
  • Doflamingo then ordered him to send Lao G to guard the SMILE factory.
  • Doflamingo began questioning Law’s plan, stating that he overestimated the amount of time he’d be able to distract him from their mission.

He asked why he was putting so much trust in them even though he was using them. Law responded that he believed that ” D ” will bring forth another storm. The battle raged across Dressrosa and ended in front of the Corrida Colosseum with Law ultimately defeated by Doflamingo.

  1. Infuriated at his defiance, Doflamingo fired off three shots into Law from a flintlock.
  2. Before Law fell unconscious, he thinks of an individual named Cora,
  3. After blaming the lies about leaving Dressrosa’s throne on Law, Zoro and Kin’emon rushed to save Law.
  4. Zoro was intercepted by Issho and Doflamingo kicked Kin’emon away when he was about to grab Law.

Doflamingo then picked Law from the ground and headed for the palace alongside Issho, stating that it was his responsibility to “educate” Law. Luffy, who sensed Law was still alive, declared his intention to go after Doflamingo and save his ally. Law was later in the palace, still unconscious and chained to the heart seat, using Seastone chains and cuffs.

After Law regained consciousness, Doflamingo interrogated him about the Straw Hats’ connection with the dwarves from Green Bit and them targeting Sugar. Baby 5 slapped Law and demanded that he answered Doflamingo. Law scared her away by giving her a glare. He then reminded Doflamingo that he had ended his alliance with the Straw Hats and knew nothing about their intentions.

When the toys in the country transformed back into their original forms, Law witnessed Kyros decapitating Doflamingo. Luffy and Viola then rushed into the room to free Law. Law told Luffy that their alliance was over, but Luffy ignored him. The rescue was interrupted by Pica ‘s sudden appearance and the revelation that Doflamingo was still alive.

Who dies in the land of Wano?

One Piece’s chapter 1052 reveals that Kozuki Oden’s retainers Ashura Doji and Izo were tragically killed during the battle for Wano Country’s freedom. What Episode Does Law Die Warning! Spoilers for One Piece chapter 1052 ahead! With One Piece’s Wano arc coming to a conclusion, the series is attempting to wrap up several plot threads all at once. Due to this, some of the character threads have either been cut completely or come to very abrupt ends.

  • Two of Oden’s retainers fall into the latter category, with Ashura Doji and Izo being killed off panel.
  • Ashura Doji and Izo are both powerful warriors hailing from Wano Country who fought to help the Straw Hat Pirates during the raid on Onigashima.
  • Prior to the raid, both Ashura and Izo were also extremely close to Kozuki Oden.

Izo actually sailed with Kozuki Oden for a length of time before becoming one of Whitebeard’s division commanders, only returning to Wano after the failed assault on Blackbeard’s forces. Ashura, being one of the Red Scabbards who wasn’t sent forward in time, stayed in Wano Country as it fell to ruins.

Though neither character was capable of defending Wano during its time of greatest need, they both made the ultimate sacrifice in order to bring peace back to their land. In chapter 1052, titled “New Morning,” it’s revealed that at some point during the raid on Onigashima, both Izo and Ashura Doji died from to the injuries they sustained.

What makes these deaths so striking, however, is their brevity and reveal. Some characters, such as Kin’emon, were given extremely dramatic scenes that teased their death, but ended up relatively okay by the end of things. Ashura Doji and Izo on the other hand weren’t even known to have died until this chapter, marking a distinct disparity between One Piece ‘s typical emotionally charged death scenes, What Episode Does Law Die Though these characters are now dead, their contributions will be forever remembered thanks to Mononosuke’s goodwill. His orders to bury their remains alongside those of Oden and Yasuie demonstrate just how integral these characters were to the raid on Onigashima.

  1. Though their passing is certainly sad, it has opened up a wave of intense criticism from fans who believe the Wano arc ended very abruptly.
  2. Even the news of their deaths felt somewhat rushed as the tone of the chapter was more relaxed than somber in the wake of these characters being killed off.
  3. With series author Eichiro Oda’s scrapped plans and sketches currently slated to be published over the next few weeks, perhaps more light will be shed on this issue.

Ashura Doji and Izo were definitely not expected to die by the Wano arc’s conclusion, judging from fan reactions. Despite their originally ambiguous fates, the two characters are gone for good now. With One Piece now teasing the arrival of Admiral Ryokugyu however, it remains to be seen whether their efforts to free Wano were for naught.

Will Law join Straw Hats?

4) Kid – What Episode Does Law Die Kid as seen in the series’ anime (Image via Toei Animation) As with Law, Kid will likely never end up joining the Straw Hats unless he somehow loses his own crew. He already has his own group and goals, the latter of which directly competes with Luffy’s ambition of becoming King of the Pirates.

Does Law lose an arm?

After the Timeskip – In Oda’s depiction of the Supernovas post-timeskip, he seems to have lost the fur rim of his hat, and replaced it with a thick bill, turning it into a rather spherical hat resembling a Wool Skipper. His goatee has become somewhat scruffier, and his right hand now also has the fingers tattooed.

Who is stronger Trafalgar Law or kid?

Final verdict – What Episode Does Law Die Both Law and Kid combined are strong enough to defeat Big Mom in Wano Country. However, if they had to fight each other, Law would be the likely winner. He is a very hard counter to Kid’s special abilities. Their durability is largely the same, so the end result is determined by their special abilities.

When Kid attracts metal objects, Law can just teleport them away inside his ROOM. He can also use Shambles to dodge most of Kid’s attacks, especially his bigger ones like Punk Corna Dio. Kid may try to steal Law’s sword, but the latter doesn’t need one to cut objects in half. More importantly, Law can use a trump card with Gamma Knife, which is completely devastating to most One Piece characters.

Kid has no means of surviving internal organ damage. Law would have to use 110% of his energy, but victory is in his favor. One Piece is going to end soon, but creator Oda has a message for fans. Read here ! Edited by Rachel Syiemlieh Thank You! GIF Cancel Reply ❮ ❯

What does the D in One Piece mean?

The Mystery of D. – What Episode Does Law Die The bloodline of the Gol family. The initial was first pointed out in Oda’s SBS questions and answers corner, when he was asked what the D. in Luffy’s name stood for. Oda just replied to read it as a D. for now and that he would reveal the truth behind it in time.

This was the first time the D. in Luffy’s name was brought up, as well as Oda’s first hint toward a bigger mystery. Kureha was the first to mention the “will of D.” when she revealed that the true name of the late Pirate King was Gol D. Roger. She told Dalton that Chopper had joined up with a very dangerous man.

The “Will of D.” has also been mentioned by Nico Robin three times, the first being when she rescued Luffy from quicksand during the Arabasta Arc ; she asked Luffy about the meaning of the “D.” and why those with the name fight, but he had no idea. The second was when Robin was talking to Gan Fall after they pulled up the ancient belfry.

Gan Fall mentioned feeling that Luffy left the same impression on him as Gol D. Roger did. The third time was when Robin tried to ask Silvers Rayleigh about the significance of the “Will of D.”, bringing up the Void Century at the same time. He did not reply on what the “D.” stood for but stated that they (the Roger Pirates ) had discovered the details of the Void Century; however, Robin declined his offer to tell her about it, determined to discover the truth herself.

In contrast to the openness of Luffy and other “D”-bearers, there are some “D.” families who seem to know its meaning and try to keep it secret from the public, such as Trafalgar Law ‘s. What Episode Does Law Die So far everyone in the Monkey family has the initial “D.”. One clue about those who carry the “D.” was left by Jaguar D. Saul, who specifically said that, while he did not know the meaning of the initial, he did know everyone in his family carried it in their names.

  1. This implies that the “D.” is passed down between generations.
  2. So far, it seems that all characters with the “D.” may indeed be related to each other, if not by blood, then at least by fate.
  3. An example of the hereditary nature of “D.” can be seen in the Monkey family, consisting of Monkey D.
  4. Luffy, his biological father Monkey D.

Dragon, and his grandfather Monkey D. Garp, This, however, does not necessarily imply that all “D.”-bearers are closely related; some of the “D.”-bearers have had children together, as seen with Portgas D. Rouge and Gol D. Roger, and some of the “D.”-bearers are giants.

An apparently unique event within the enigma of “D.” was the birth of Portgas D. Ace, whose parents, Portgas D. Rouge and Gol D. Roger, both bore the mysterious initial. During a flashback, Gol D. Roger complains that the World Government is calling him “Gold Roger” instead of his real name. He was then asked by Whitebeard what “D” is.

Roger cryptically agreed to explain it, though the scene fades before he actually says anything. However, it is implied that Whitebeard had a clear understanding to its meaning. He later noted during the battle at Marineford that killing someone with a “D.” would not extinguish the flames of their will because someone would eventually inherit that will and carry on Roger’s wish.

  1. Later on, Trafalgar Law wondered aloud that the Will of D.
  2. Will almost certainly call up a storm again.
  3. It is still not clear exactly what he meant, but it hints that Silvers Rayleigh had a clear purpose for wanting to find Monkey D.
  4. Luffy on Amazon Lily,
  5. In the Post-War arc, one of the Five Elders stated that “D.” means danger.

After the timeskip, Law mentioned the Will of D. once more when Doflamingo asked him why he had so much faith in Luffy.

In certain places, the clan of D. have been called by another name, God’s Archenemy.

Rosinante telling Law about the D.’s true purpose. When Donquixote Rosinante learned that Law is a “D.”, he revealed to Law that those with this initial in their name are from the fated family of D. ( D ( ディー ) の一族 Dī no Ichizoku ?, VIZ: People of the D),

In the country where Rosinante came from, children were told that if they misbehaved, they would be eaten up by “D.”. Similarly, elders of that country seemed quite wary of the “storm” that those with “D.” were known to cause. Rosinante explained to Law that the “D.” has been secretly inherited worldwide and throughout history, and that in a certain land, the “family of D.” was referred to as Natural Enemy of God ( 神の天敵 Kami no Tenteki ? ),

According to Rosinante, the “D.”s are considered to be the natural enemy of the Celestial Dragons, as Celestial Dragons are considered to be “Gods”. After visiting Laugh Tale, Kozuki Oden mentioned that he and the Roger Pirates had learned the meaning of the D.

  • Name. After that Roger noted the World Government is hiding his true name, Gol D.
  • Roger, but considering everything he and his crew learned in Laugh Tale, he understands the reason for this conspiracy.
  • When the news of Kaidou and Big Mom’s defeat spread throughout the world, the Five Elders ordered to remove the D.

in Monkey D. Luffy’s name on his bounty poster but failed, seemingly due to a miscommunication.

Does Law and kid respect Luffy?

Monkey D. Luffy – What Episode Does Law Die Law and Luffy together. Law first encountered Monkey D. Luffy in the Human Auctioning House, where the latter gained his attention after striking down a Celestial Dragon in front of everyone. Like Kid, Law smiled at Luffy’s defiance of the consequences.

  • He seems to have some respect for Luffy, as shown after defeating the Marines outside the Human Auction House.
  • Also, he and his crew traveled to Marineford during the Summit War of Marineford to assist with Luffy’s escape, and then later administered medical treatment to him.
  • As he said, while Luffy would one day be his enemy, an enemy relationship is still a relationship and that it would be a “damn shame” for Luffy to die at Marineford.

After the timeskip, Law encountered Luffy again at Punk Hazard, with the latter being pleasantly surprised to see Law, despite being unaware of Law’s Warlord status at the time. When Luffy said how grateful he was, Law stated that he does not need to be thanked as it was just a “spur of the moment” thing, and that as fellow pirates, the two of them still remain rivals.

  • In spite of his previous claim to Smoker that he would annihilate Luffy, he did not attack Luffy in any way and even told him where he can find his other crewmates.
  • Later, he helped Luffy save Nami from the Yeti Cool Brothers and proposed an alliance between their crews, with the ultimate goal of defeating the Emperor Kaidou.

Luffy agreed, making their crews allies in a relationship (which Luffy perceives to be as practically a friendship, but Law sees as more of a professional agreement). Luffy often treats him very casually, like a good friend, something which Law usually frowns upon.

Law has invested enough in this alliance that, despite it having nothing to do with their agreement, he decided to help Luffy and his crew save the kids on Punk Hazard, even though he himself only viewed them as a burden. He also has a lot of faith in Luffy, as he asserted to Doflamingo that Luffy would capture Caesar without a problem.

Law does seem to have some doubts about Luffy’s reliability and carefree attitude. When Luffy sent Caesar flying instead of capturing him as he was supposed to, Law remarked that he knew he should not have formed an alliance with him and resorted to trying to capture Caesar himself.

However, after Luffy put his faith in Usopp and Nami to incapacitate the deranged scientist, which they did, he expressed satisfaction that Luffy upheld his end of their agreement. Later, he also objected to Luffy’s decision to throw a party instead of leaving Punk Hazard, as he believed they were still vulnerable, though he still reluctantly joins them and has stew with Smoker.

Though Law indicated that he wished to ‘use’ Luffy when forming the alliance due to the Straw Hats’ great unpredictability and ambition, he instead feels like the one being used. Having had his arm severed and faced with near impossible odds against Trebol and Doflamingo, he was given a chance to have any wish granted as long as he performed his Devil Fruit’s “Perennial Youth Operation” on Doflamingo.

  • Rather than take the opportunity, he instead berates Doflamingo for underestimating Luffy (among other things), and boasts about the various miracles that the Straw Hats have performed up until now.
  • This highlights a deep trust in Luffy, which is uncharacteristic of the strictly professional relationship that he originally intended to establish with the crew.

When Law was brought to the Flower Field as Luffy fought Doflamingo, he stated that it was his fault that Luffy was brought into this matter due to the alliance. He was willing to share whatever fate Luffy suffered as a result, even death. Robin, however, corrected him by saying that Luffy would have joined voluntarily because of Doflamingo’s deed.

  1. Law deeply respects Luffy for his role in Doflamingo’s downfall, as shown when Law informed Bepo that it was Luffy’s doing.
  2. When Luffy agrees to help the Mink tribe and the Kozuki Family take down Kaidou, Law feels slighted at not being asked for input, questioning Luffy about his faith in him.
  3. During the Wano Country Arc, the one thing that deeply concerns Law is Luffy’s tendency to get into trouble and he even berated Luffy for complicating Kin’emon’s plan due to his desire to do good.

When they reunited with each other in Bakura Town, Law was exasperated and annoyed that Luffy and Zoro picked a fight against the Beasts Pirates before the plan could start. He is also extremely annoyed by Luffy’s penchant to tell him what to do, since he does not want to be perceived as his henchman.

A very notable trait from Luffy towards Law is the way he nicknames him. Luffy seems to be unable to pronounce his surname “Trafalgar” correctly, hence he calls him “Tora-o” ( トラ男 ? ), which is a portmanteau of the “Tra” in “Trafalgar” and the Japanese kanji for “male”. This is often localized as “Tra-guy” in some subtitled media, or as “Traffy” in the VIZ manga, the FUNimaton dub, and in the videogame Pirate Warriors 3,

It’s often common for other people closely associated with Luffy (mainly his crew) to also call Law by this nickname, and so far Law himself seemingly takes no offense to it.

After saying that only the World Nobles can trick the whole world, Law suddenly remembered Vergo telling him about not knowing about Doflamingo’s past.

Law asked Sanji about the status of the operation in Dressrosa only to learn that Zoro ‘s group needed more time. Law revealed that he had Caesar’s heart inside of him and Law’s heart was hidden in the Thousand Sunny. After giving Caesar back his heart, Law instructed Nami’s group to head for Zou.
