Despite these low chances, such high runes are still the most likely to be found by farming cows, as about 350 to 450 Hell Bovines appear on the Secret Cow Level. To efficiently farm the Cow Level, your character build of choice should be one that deals a huge amount of area damage, allowing you to cut through Cows quickly.

Not only that, but this area isn’t too hard to reach, meaning you can start the rune farming pretty early on in the game.
And it’s just one of many – regardless of where you are in Elden Ring, we can find you somewhere to start farming runes. These farming spots basically mean you can improve your character with relatively small amounts of effort, and are perfect to grind when you just need a break from trying work through higher level areas.
As well as the 40k spot there are plenty of locations that almost give you runes just for finding them. In the early stages especially every little helps. There are also special items and talismans that can boost the runes you earn even more. If you know enough, you can massively increase how fast get runes in Elden Ring,

Elden Ring rune farming spot in Stormhill – The first and quickest farming spot to farm runes is on Stormhill, just west of Limgrove, which is accessible as soon as you have access to horse Torrent after first meeting the Melina at a Site of Grace. While it might be safer to fight the two chained trolls pulling the caravan (and the enemies behind it) when you’re riding through West Limgrave along the main path to the Gatefront, there’s a location where you can fight five trolls at once – which will net you a total of 5,000 runes (1,000 runes per troll). 
To reach this part of Stormhill, follow the cliff face along the East of the Gatefront Site of Grace and you’ll come to an air current that Torrent can jump to reach the top of Stormhill. Be careful that trolls are quite intimidating and hit hard – especially when you’re low-level – and once you’ve taken down half their health they’ll stop swinging at you with their arms and pull out the sword on their back. 
Your option is to take them on one at a time or bait them two at a time. As the trolls’ attacks can hurt each other, you can try using Torrent to give them the runaround while their arms and then their swords do the work for you. There’s a risk to this, however, because if you ride a bit too far away, trolls may unleash a roaring wind attack that can knock you off your steed and leave you stunned for a dangerous amount of time.

Killing mobs in lvl85 areas might get you some good item once in a blue moon, you can trade that, rinse repeat and trade your way to a Ber 1 Like cows – run javazon travincal – some melee barb w/ find item need hundreds of runs doing either approach to see HR.
maybe HR every 200 to 500 runs. very unpredictable. greenPixel: The usual answer is lvl 85 areas, kill as much as possible, as fast as possible. Indeedideally in p5+ games in order to decrease the ‘no-drop’ chance from mobs(meaning as the name implies that will not drop any kind of loot) and basically increase the chances of ‘Rune Groups’ to be selected from the loot table.
- I for one dropped in solo online play: Sur from random mob in Ancients tunnels, Jah from Meph Council, Jah from random mob in Throne of Dest and Ohm from Ancient Tunnels Chest.
- I found a JAH drop in the Forgotten Tower level 5, not from the Countess, but from a Devilkin in the next room.
- I also had a JAH drop from Eldritch in the Frigid Highlands.
I think they can drop from just about anywhere, the odds are just really low.
- Travincal Horker Barb is your highest % chance.
- Cows is also great.
- Chaos is good.
Otherwise all you got is spamming level 85 zones. When I’m in the mood to farm on my summon necro I like to full clear all the level 85 zones and stuff. Worldstone Keep+Throne is my favorite I think. What is the easiest rune to get?
Elden Ring Great Runes: Where To Find And Activate All Great Runes In, one of the rewards you’ll get after taking down each major boss is a Great Rune. There are several Great Runes to collect throughout the game, each offering a different bonus to your abilities after consuming a Rune Arc, but you have to activate most Great Rune before they’re actually viable.
It can be annoying to get a new one and then realize it’s not actually doing anything. You might be struggling to find them or not realize how to activate them-at first, the majority of them are useless. In order to use a Great Rune, you will need to equip them at a Site of Grace and use a Rune Arc, which is a rare consumable item to ensure you can’t always reap the rewards.
After using the Rune Arc, the Great Rune will be active until you die or switch Great Runes. Before doing any of that, you will need to activate the Great Runes by heading to the corresponding Divine Tower. Like a lot in Elden Ring, it’s a complicated, deliberately unclear process.
Before we dive in, understand that this guide contains spoilers related to mainline boss battles. Here is where to find each Divine Tower. Table of Contents Starting from the Liftside Chamber, the path to the Divine Tower is southeast, towards the massive bridge. Godrick’s Great Rune is obtained from defeating Godrick, who is located in the heart of Stormveil Castle.
This is likely the first Great Rune you will obtain in Elden Ring. In order to use Godrick’s Great Rune you will need to activate it by heading to the nearby Divine Tower. Godrick’s Great Rune is activated in the Limgrave Divine Tower, which is connected to Stormveil Castle by a massive bridge.
- To get there, start at the Liftside Chamber Site of Grace located in the northwest section of the castle.
- This will place you behind the multiple fire turrets and archers guarding the final gate that leads to the main gate.
- Go past these archers and to the left, taking the path toward the main entrance.
Unless you want to clear out a ton of enemies here, it’s recommended that you just sprint through. After heading left through the gate you will come to a skinny path, where enemies with crossbows are firing explosive rounds at you. Again, keep sprinting.
After going through the next gate, there will be a grassy area on your left leading into a building. There is a lion enemy there, which won’t follow you into the building. Head through the building and up the stairs to find the Limgrave Tower Bridge Site of Grace. Head across the bridge until you find the teleport gate in the center of the path.
From here, you will need to head across the bridge in front of you, which has three massive golems on it. The first two are equipped with axes, with the third one wielding a bow. Behind the third one is a teleport gate, which will send you to the front door of the Divine Tower.
Here, you can enter the Divine Tower of Limgrave. The door will only open if you have the unactivated Great Rune. Once inside take the elevator up, head through the open archway, activate the Site of Grace, and head up the stairs. On the top of the tower are two dead fingers and the Great Rune should be floating above its corpse.
Interact with it and it will activate Godrick’s Great Rune. While activated, Godrick’s Great Rune gives +5 to all attributes.
What is the best early game rune farm?
Bestial Sanctum Farming – 1,000 to 1,300 runes per enemy – 
You will first need to head over to the Third Church of Marika. The best farming location early in the game is actually a higher-level location that you can find your way to using a warp gate. In order to get there, you will need to find your way to the Third Church of Marika, located in East Limgrave.
- The easiest way to get here is to start at the Gate Front Site of Grace and follow the road path east.
- After crossing over a bridge, you will take the path north and continue following it until you run directly into the church.
- This location is outside the first map fragment you find, but you can get the map fragment for East Limgrave by continuing to follow the path after the Third Church of Marika.
Once you get to the Third Church of Marika, you will want to head inside and activate the Lost Grace and grab the Flask of Wondrous Physik, since you are already here. Head to the river located on the north side of the church and follow it east until you find a warp gate located behind some trees. 
After taking the warp gate this is where you spawn in, with the Site of Grace behind you. Once you arrive at the Bestial Sanctum, there will be a towering enemy standing directly in front of you. This is a boss you will not want to fight until much later in the game but luckily if you do not attack it or get close to it, it will leave you alone.
- The first thing you want to do is to turn around and head into the Sanctum where you will find a Site of Grace and the Gurranq, Beast Clergyman, who you don’t need to worry about right now.
- After that, head outside and start looking for some small, black-hooded enemies standing around the area.
- These enemies will be pretty tough for someone at a low level, but they don’t have too much health.
They are also mostly standing alone, so you can sneak up for a critical strike. 
You will find about two dozen of these enemies spread out in the different zones marked above. Depending on what weapon the enemy is wielding, each one will net you between 1,000 and 1,300 runes, which is a significant amount early in the game. This area is also good because if you do get killed by one of them, it’s easy to ride in on Torrent, snag your runes, and ride out.

How do you become a Law Altar?
Access – As with most other runecrafting altars, it can be accessed via the Abyss, Players can also enter the altar by using a law talisman or omni-talisman on the ruins, or by interacting with them whilst wearing a law tiara or omni-tiara, or wielding a law talisman staff,
- A wicked hood may also be used to enter the ruins, if it has been imbued with any of the aforementioned talismans or tiaras.
- Currently, the fastest way to get there is to use the wicked hood’s teleport, which can be used twice a day, or three times if all the wicked robes have been purchased from the Runespan (this can be increased further by adding wicked hood teleport tokens ).
The second fastest method is to break a law altar teleport tablet. Both of these methods teleport the player just outside of the altar. The wicked hood can be obtained by talking to Tam McGrubor, and the teleport tablets by playing the Great Orb Project minigame.
